Cut-A-Thon in Dunellen, NJ

For the second year in a row, Melanie Tirpak opened up her studio to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Tirpak, owner and lead hair stylist of Melanie's Salon in Dunellen, met Vincent Siehl on the job a few years back. That's when the Cut-A-thon was born.

Piscataway resident Vincent Seihl runs with the Low and Slow Team under Team Determination for the American Cancer Society. For 100 years the American Cancer Society has lead the way in helping transform cancer from deadly to treatable and from treatable to preventable, Team Determination reports. Team Determination works with other fund-raisers to save more than 400 lives a day that would have otherwise been lost to cancer by organizing fund-raising marathons, triathlons, and half marathons every year.

During a hair cut appointment, Seihl mentioned his fund-raising goal and Tirpak gladly offered to host a Cut-A-Thon. The money raised goes directly to those individuals and families fighting cancer.

Tirpak, her team and Siehl serve as inspiration to all of us. They teach us that a large battles began to heal with small efforts. JLK Media is glad to have helped spread the word about these awesome individuals and a great cause!
